Community Fundraising Opportunities

Park & Ride Management Teams

The Wetaskiwin Air Show Society is seeking 3 non-profit Community Organizations for event-day assistance at three different Park & Ride sites. Preferred Air Show spectator access will be via Park & Ride only, with the exception of VIP Parking Pass holders and Pre-sold Parking Pass holders.

Each of the three Park & Ride sites requires responsible teams to arrange & direct parking of vehicles in an orderly fashion, sell gate admissions/tickets, scan pre-purchased tickets for bus entry, queue spectators for bus trips and provide information to spectators.

Responsibilities:

  • Parking Lot set-up
  • Parking Lot ingress & egress assistance
  • Cash handling
  • Control gate access (bus access)
  • Provide information
  • 12 Adult Volunteers at all times

Remuneration:

Honorarium

 

Recycling Team

The Wetaskiwin Air Show recognizes the importance of being green!

The Air Show requires the assistance of a Community Organization to collect and sort recyclables throughout the event - assisting to keep the site clean and to help organizers and spectators do their part for mother nature.

Responsibilities:

  • 12 Volunteers (any age)
  • 4 Adult Volunteers
  • Collection and sorting of recycling throughout the two-day event
  • Transport of collections off-site

Remuneration:

Proceeds of recyclable refunds

 

Gift Shop Sales Team

From one-of-a-kind F-18 T-shirts, to skookum Snowbirds finger puppets and collectible Cub models - we'll have souvenirs available for all ages!

The Wetaskiwin Air Show Society is seeking a non-profit Community Organization to set-up, display, sell and manage the Air Show's Gift Shop throughout the two-day event.

Responsibilities:

  • 12 Adult Volunteers
  • Pricing, display set-up and restocking of product
  • Cash handling
  • Display take-down
  • Final inventory

Remuneration:

Percentage of sales

 

Souvenir Program Sales Troop

What is Kent Pietsch's favorite Jelly Belly flavour? How old was Melissa Pemberton when she first flew upside-down?

Answers to these and other unique questions in the Wetaskiwin Air Show Souvenir Program - chock full of exciting news about the Air Show, the great City of Wetaskiwin, Performers, Event Maps, and LOTS of terrific pictures ready for autographs! Show your community spirit, have some fun and earn some money for your group by selling Souvenir Programs to all of our spectators.

Responsibilities:

  • 15 Youth Volunteers (age 13+)
  • 2 Adult Volunteers
  • Roving sales of Souvenir Programs throughout the two-day event

Remuneration:

Honorarium + Percentage of sales


Community 'Clean' Team

 The Wetaskiwin Air Show recognizes the need to keep our site clean. We are seeing a Community Organization to help us take care of our Earth collecting and emptying trash throughout the event.

 Responsibilities:

  •  8 volunteers at all times
  • collection of garbage around the site and empty the trash bins

 Remuneration:

- Honorarium of  $500

 

Spectator Feedback Team

 We want to make our event as enjoyable as possible, and to do that we need to hear from you! The Wetaskiwin Air Show is seeking a Community Organization to obtain spectator feedback throughout the event.

 Responsibilites:

  • 2 Adult volunteers
  • 6 volunteers (any age)
  • collection of spectator survey feedback throughout the two-day event

 Remuneration:

-Honorarium of $150/day
