Volunteer Opportunities
This event will rely heavily on volunteer support for its success. Approximately 200 staff and volunteers will be required during the event itself. The Volunteer Co-ordinator at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum organizes and assigns responsibilities and can be contacted at 1-780-361-1351 or by e-mail at dale.quinn@gov.ab.ca.
Some of the Volunteer Opportunities that will be available:
Security – Secure the perimeter of the restricted area during the Air Show. It is critical that this large “box” is clear of all pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Parking – Direct traffic and visitors in a variety of areas, including the museum entrances, parking lots, park ‘n ride sites and the staff/volunteer parking lot. Key objectives are public safety and maximizing the space allocated.
Host (gallery, aviation hangar, information desk, grounds) – Provide directions, information and security at various locations in the Museum and on the grounds. Offer excellent service while ensuring a safe and enjoyable Air Show.
Programming Activities – Assist with delivery, security and safety with programming developed for the event, which may include children’s activities and static displays.
Hospitality – Prepare and present food and refreshments for staff and volunteers. Help feed and water the workers so they can do their jobs.
